Hub Plant, situated strategically at the Hub River estuary, Baluchistan is one of the most efficient RFO fired thermal power plant in Pakistan, which supplies reliable and uninterrupted electricity to the national grid. It is one of the largest private power projects and the first and largest Independent Power Producer (IPP) in Pakistan to be financed by the private sector in Southern Asia.

The power plant consists of four generating units each rated at 323 MW gross output, with a residual oil-fired single re-heat boiler and tandem compound, two-cylinder condensing steam turbine directly coupled to a hydrogen cooled generator. The net available output of 1200MW is exported to WAPDA’s national grid via the power station’s 500kv switch yard.

The Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT) was conceptualized in the early nineties, in response to a tender that was floated by the Government of Pakistan, for the construction and operation of what would be the country very first Dedicated International Container Terminal, to be built at Port Muhammad Bin Qasim on a build/own/operate basis.

The concession was awarded to the P&O Ports group in 1995 for a period of 30 years and the terminal commenced operations on August 10, 1997. In 2006, when P&O Ports was bought over by DP World globally, QICT was added to the DP World portfolio in Subcontinent Region. QICT, today also known as DP World Karachi is Pakistan leading container terminal operator handling a majority of the country trade.

Prime International Oil and Gas Company is a joint venture between Hub Power Holdings Limited (HPHL) and ENI Pakistan’s Local Employees. It aims to further diversify HUBCO’s portfolio into oil and natural gas exploration, field development and production. Prime owns several gas fields located in Zone II and III, Sindh.

Prime is the operator of Bhit, Bhadhra and Kadanwari gas fields. The other gas fields of Prime include Zamzama, Bitro, Jugan, Latif, Miano, Mitha, Saqib and Thal.

The Prime International Oil & Gas company also owns four Gas Processing Plants of Bhit, Kadanwari, Sawan and Zamzama.

Prime is pursuing organic growth opportunities in owned assets as well as potential growth opportunities in new fields based on government auctions. The core objectives of the company will be to work towards building a future where Pakistan develops its own indigenous sources of energy, and everyone can access energy efficiently and sustainably.

Pioneer Cement Ltd. is a cement company with a 16,000 ton per day cement capacity and 50MW captive power. The company currently operates 3 production lines located at Chenki, District Khushab, in the heart of Punjab province, 250 km away from Lahore.

Pioneer Cement Limited (PCL) was incorporated as a Public Limited Company on February 09, 1986. Its shares are quoted on the Pakistan Stock Exchange. The company commenced its operations with an installed clinker capacity of 2000 tons per day (tpd).

During 2005,the capacity was optimized to 2,350 tons of clinker per day. In financial year 2006, another clinker production line of 4,300 tons per day capacity was completed. The company has installed & commissioned a 12 MW Waste Heat Recovery Power Plant (WHRPP) in December 2016.

After being acquired in late 2009 by MCPL the company’s management was replaced. The new management led to one of the most remarkable turnarounds in contemporary corporate Pakistan- a milestone achieved by executing a highly comprehensive plotted strategy.

With a keen focus on improving the company’s top line as well as the bottom line the company improved its profitability and focused on innovation and launch of new brands.

Imperial Developers and Builders Pvt. Ltd., a 100% owned holding of MCPL is engaged in the construction of a 30 storey LEED certified commercial building in Karachi, the commercial hub of Pakistan. The development called Mega Corporate Tower has a total gross built area of 485,000 sq ft, with total rentable area of 247,000 sq ft. The building has nine parking floors (400 parking spaces), three floors of flexible multi-use space and fifteen floors of office space. The building is the first LEED certified construction in Pakistan with energy efficient features, reduced CO2 emissions and improved indoor air quality.

Additionally IDBL owns various pieces of land for development all over Pakistan and is entering into a landmark development project spread over approximately three acres in the center of Karachi. The project will involve the development of a 2.5 million square foot mixed-use district featuring a luxury 5 star international hotel, residential apartments and grade ‘A’ office space all linked through retail and serviced through a state of the art district utility center. It will be the first of its kind in the country.
